i just bought a copy of the finished mystery and it can be a bit rare.

I own Aid To Bible Understanding. It mentions where the name Jehovah came from unlike the newer Insight volumes. ( Raymundus Martini the monk who invented the Latin version of G-d's name )

The reason the Insight books were done was twofold : to distance themselves from Raymond Franz ( he did most of it's research and writing ) and to create considerable income from the R & F ( all family heads surely felt the need to purchase theses expensive sets to keep up with the Jones and out-spiritualize other families )

Yes I have read that Commentary on James by dear Mr. Ed Dunlap is the best WT book out there by far.

That girl is stunning must say ! Yep I had a JW friend whose wife and sister looked like that. They are no longer married, she is now remarried out of the cult. Friend is a company man waiting for his inheritance, is a career choice of his lol. Bat s**t crazy nutty bunch those JW's I must say ! Everything about them is dishonest and dysfunctional right down to their drawings and pictures.

i used to dread seeing a witness coming toward me.

now i am quite comfortable and hope that they may say something to me..... does your blood pressure rise when you see a jw coming toward you?

Hi Tom, in reply to your previous statement that the WTBTS are the most prevalent Bible based translators with 900 languages in the world I present you with the United Bible Society and their world wide work. We are taking actual Bibles here or at the very least many books of the Bible, not tracts or magazines. Many others are sharing in this Christian endeavour as is the Tyndale Bible and may other groups. So please check your facts before you say others have at most five ( 5 ) I'm surprised you actually wrote that considering your evident research and writing skills. ( 542 languages and counting )

In my opinion the Org has a couple things right and a couple things wrong as do may others. Didn't Paul say to keep on putting up with one another in love ? I take this as applying to different Christian sects in getting along and working with each other in brotherly love praising the Lord and making the Christ and his Kingdom known.

Actually the JW manner of constant bragging, boasting and self elevation to the exclusion of other Christian faiths, be them Trinitarian or not is selfish, childish, shameful, evil and of this world.

However I do think you're right in saying that God permits JW to exist BUT all the same as he does with the other groups / religions / sects. I just do not see how JW can be THE narrow door. Many adherents of other faiths are honest hearted and sincerely doing their best to live a Godly life full of good works and love, some surely not. Who are you and I or the GB to judge ?

As for the money going to Bethel you are aware of the 4K a day ongoing fine from ther San Diego Calif. court with the withholding of 21,000+ known recorded JW paedophiles ? Arw you aware of Geritt Losch's refusal to show up in court, costing the org 13M+ of contribution money. Scandalous !

Here's one that hit close to home. I know this family personally and have been in service with the younger brother of the sister that was abused. Her old pervert piano teacher would sit down with her side by side and stick it out in while he gave her lessons. My guess is he got off on it the bastard. He was reinstated 2 years later and still goes door to door, isnt that just grand ?

Anyhow your blogs hepled me get my bearings straight when I finally started looking deeper into the WTBTS. You are one of many that helped me wake up to the truth about the truth ! The final straw was reading Keith Casarona's Newboy series on his stay at bethel NY in the sevenities. It all fell apart after that and I now go to the Father through Christ. I read and study the Bible almost daily and will be doping the memorial over the weekend quietly at home with my cat.

You have a a gift as a writer I do hope you updates your blog eventually.

You seems well balanced I remember you writing about going to a few punk rock concerts with your son and enjoying yourself, pretty cool as a dad !

I think you are in New Englad if I recall correctly so if ever you are in Montreal and want to go mountain biking or even dirt biking shoot me a PM I have some spare rides.

Cool you run wire EDM ! We have 3 sinker EDM's and a couple vintage Bostomatic 4 axis high speed mills. Good on you for staying with new job. Try and get some heat treatment experience as well and no one can touch you you'll have work for life where you want.

Jehovah's Witnesses Knocking at my Front Door

i have jw's knocking on my door about 4 times a year.

they walk along the whole street knocking on all the properties trying to hand out leaflets about god.. i always engage them in conversation.

my street has a very large number of oap's who could really do with some extra help.....grass cutting, shopping, cleaning, help around the house, gardening, diy etc.. never once have i been able to persuade any jw's to do something worthwhile for these residents.. i'm left with the thought that jw's don't want to do anything really worthwhile for these people.......why ?.

Stick with the new job is there is room to move up you'll get same money within no time if things are as you say. Plus the added experience and set-up / design / programming know how will pay off for you in satisfaction and self confidence. Are you running swiss machines / screw machines or high speed cnc small parts turning machines ? At middle age we need challenges like this to keep us moving forward. We just bought our first turning center 2 years ago, Mazak QT8N with T+ love it.

Love how being out of 'the truth' enables me to focus on my shop and personal growth. Fellow JW's would look at any and every opportunity to belittle me on my 'secular' career and tell me you work to life not live to work. Yeah right..
